Mr. Xander

Alexander Sen started dancing when he was 5 years old with the Ukrainian School of Dance. He then went on to study Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop. Dancing competitively at a studio until age 15, Xander has trained with WorknPlay and Future Shock Ottawa creating his love for both Contemporary and Hip Hop. He was awarded scholarships to attend both The Alberta Ballet Summer program in Calgary, Alberta and the Joffrey Experience at the Joffrey Ballet in NYC.

He has trained with several noted choreographers including Jeff Dimitriou, Reet Roy, Jerome Esplana, Fefe Burgos and Cat Cagliandro among others. His performance experience has varied, performing in San Diego, Toronto and New York City among other places. Most recently, Xander was cast as the Mouse King and the Arabian in the Nutcracker and has also performed in different shows such as the musical Mary Poppins. He was the featured soloist for the grand opening ceremonies at the National Arts Centre for Dignitaries including Prince Charles and the Governor General.

Through taking classes, Xander found a love for teaching and choreography. As a choreographer Xander has had the opportunity to teach contemporary and hip hop classes in the city as well as choreographing for events such as Future Shock Showcase and Dancer’s Give Back 2020.

Xander recently graduated from Canterbury High School with dance certification in Ballet and Modern intending to make a career out of the art he loves.

Nobody cares if you cant dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.
