Miss Jojo

(English & French speaking)

Jojo was first introduced to breakdancing (breaking) at the age of 8 when she stumbled upon street performance by The Flava Factory. She registered for class the next day and never looked back. She took classes for a few years before being invited to join the crew program. Since then her passion and drive for the dance has grown exponentially. She has been in the crew intensive program for 6 years and counting, representing Flava in many battles and performances.

Jojo has over 8 years of experience in breaking and is trained in other street dance styles such as Popping and HipHop. Having the fortunate opportunity of strong and consistent mentorship in her dance journey, Jojo is passionate about passing it on: teaching, mentoring, and inspiring others to move.   She began as an assistant teacher for The Flava Factory at the age of 12, and is now a junior instructor, supporting classes for kids aged 4-11, as well as teaching on her own.

Jojo never misses an opportunity to showcase street dance.  She has experience performing and battling in Ottawa and across Canada.  She has performed at Ottawa Fury Games, Culture Shock: Light Up The Stage Showcase, the RBC Youth Awards, and more. She can also be found on T.V. (TFO ONFR and Radio Canada: Vite pas Vite) for segments about breaking. Along with her performance experience she has participated in many breaking battles including, House of Paint, Can I Get A Soul Clap, Cypherfest 2024, Skuad Tingz 2019, and many more. She has also organized and run her own events as well as supporting others in running events.

This is Jojo’s second year working with Luv2Groove™ through their summer camps and special events. She is very passionate about dance and continues to have the drive and dedication to teach others and share the art she loves so much.
