““When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way”
Amanda LeClaire, has been dancing since she was 3 years old. After completing her training in all disciplines as a competitive dancer, Amanda went on to dance professionally in New York, assisting acclaimed teacher Michelle Barber of Broadway Dance Centre. After training in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, NYC, LA, Australia, she went on to dance with Carnival Cruise Lines, Ottawa’s contemporary company Karma Dance Theatre, Sapphire Dance Company, Odyssey Showcase, and Culture Shock Ottawa. Her award winning choreography has been showcased at local charity events such as Rogers House, the Chance2Dance Gala, Bash Noir and Bust A Move. She’s also performed on stage for artists such as Benny Benassi, Steve Angelo, Armen Van Buuren, and Diplo!
Amanda also discovered the benefits of yoga while recovering from hip surgery at the age of 20. It helped her heal mentally and physically, and loved the way it complimented her dancing so much that she attained her 200hr RYT Hatha and Yoga Tune Up ® certification at Rama Lotus and Pure Yoga in Ottawa. She offers Yoga4Dancers workshops, and has been featured at the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo where she educated fellow teachers on preventing/treating dance related injuries through the art of self-massage.
Amanda went on to attend the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to continue her education on the health of a dancer’s body, by becoming a Registered Holistic Natural Nutritionist. She believes in educating and developing dancers by giving them the tools they need to have a long lasting career with a strong body and mind! Her passion and joy for dance is infectious to her students, as she safely guides them through an informative, fun and inspiring class!
Amanda now travels throughout school boards full time in Ontario and Northern Canada with Luv2Groove, providing educational dance programs for students of all ages and abilities! On her ‘spare time’ Amanda also enjoys Mc’ing and judging at local dance competitions!
