B.FA. (Contemporary Dance)
Allison Burns is a dancer, choreographer, producer and teacher. She has worked as a dance instructor for new and experienced dancers of all ages. She has experience teaching a variety of dance styles (Ballet, Modern/Contemporary, and Hip Hop), and trains in an even broader array of styles. Since graduating from Concordia University with a degree in Contemporary Dance with distinction in 2010, she’s continued her dance education through classes and workshops, in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Calgary. She has participated in dance teacher training with Sylvie Desrosiers, Dandelion Dance, and Propeller Dance.
As a dancer, Allison has performed in choreographic works by Siôned Watkins (National Arts Centre), Renata Soutter (Propeller Dance), Jérôme Bel, and Noémie Lafrance, and has toured North America. Allison has also choreographed her own works for the 2018 Alberta Dance Festival, the 2017 Dark Horse Dance Projects, 9th Hour Theatre’s 2018 production of Godspell, and Odyssey Theatre’s 2017 Spreading Roots community outreach project, 2019 Ottawa Fringe Festival and 2019 Uproar Arts Festival in Toronto.
